Bogmummy and the muses (J)

Erato, the Greek Muse of erotic poetry and patron muse of us humble writers of erotic prose.

Where does inspiration come from?

I've seen many authors try to answer this (admittedly) vague question. Where doesn't it come from? The birds in the trees summoning a warning when a predator is near... translates to a scene reflecting the characters in the same situation. How do they know its a predator? What do they get out of warning the other birds-- their competition for the limited resources?

A song comes on the radio... and that one line (you know the one. the one that raises the hairs on your arms because it speaks to your soul) take that feeling and it translates into fathomless depths of emotion. There now, tap into that and you have the emotion for the scene.

I've come to notice with the muses, they don't just sit around at your shoulder whispering ideas; the muses come to you when your lost to your writing in the form of 'what if'... Our biggest driver of our stories have been our characters. Knowing them inside and out. What motivates them. Why would they do that. How would they react if...

Bogmummy. A running joke, its who we blame when the story is taken out of our hands and the characters run away. A joke that's not funny/ humorous, but funny/ astonishing.

The Sumerian influence came about in this manner, and took over a lot of the story foundations. A forgotten pantheon. Where do the gods go when humans no longer worship them? Why wouldn't they fight to be remembered?

This one is for you, Inanna, forgotten goddess, Queen of the Heavens, Goddess of love, beauty, sex, desire, fertility, war, justice, and political power.

We hope we did your people justice.
